Our specialty: soufflés!
Far from the hustle and bustle of Paris, the spirit of Madame Récamier still hovers over Saint-Germain-des-Prés, breathing what Sainte-Beuve described as "gentle genius".
Her beauty and intelligence earned her an international reputation. Her salon was frequented by the greatest names in the political, intellectual and artistic worlds.
Juliette Récamier instilled a new, refined and delicate spirit.
This has remained intact, you'll find it in the dishes of world-renowned Gérard Idoux but also around our tables where literary, cultural and political personalities gather.
Here endures all the elegance of Madame Récamier's salon.

The Chef
Gérard Idoux, chef and founder of Le Récamier, began his career as an apprentice at the Hôtel de l'Espérance in Pouilly. Having passed through Ledoyen, the Plaza Athénée, the Pétrus, the Eiffel Tower, the Orient-Express Venice Simplon and Lebanon, he ran La Cigale rue Chomel and today embodies his home with strength and elegance.
For years, he's been a match for politicians, heads of state, the press and the entertainment world, both French and international. Decorated with the Legion of Honor by President Sarkozy, received at the White House by President Bush, Gérard Idoux was warm and jovial.
"Le Récamier is more than a restaurant.
Cooking is more than just my job.
This is the story of my life.
A relentless march, punctuated by dreams, successes and challenges too."
Gérard Idoux
